NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports that on Saturday, the S.W.A.T. Team conducted active shooter training refresher exercises with the Sheriff’s school resource officers, in case of real-life scenario ever presents itself.
The training took place at an undisclosed school location.
The objective is to keep those teams prepared for responding to such an event, up to date on all aspects ranging from the security of students and staff to a live confrontation with an armed suspect.
“It is imperative that we update training protocols as often as possible so that we can protect the interests of our children and school staff and rapidly and aggressively confront potential suspects to bring the incident to the safest conclusion possible”, Sheriff Falcon said.
This training is part of Sheriff Falcon’s rigorous training regimen and is conducted on a regular basis.
