More than two months into the fiscal year, Gonzales has reintroduced a budget.

Last year, the city of Gonzales operated on a general fund budget of roughly $22 million. That budget, funded by taxes, pays for the fire and police departments, city administration, general government, sanitation, recreation and streets and drainage.
